What We're All About
Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.
About the Director
Sue and I have been serving the Lord with Child Evangelism Fellowship since 1997. The Lord has blessed us with two adult children who are both serving the Lord. Sue’s brother led her to the Lord when she was in high school and she was discipled through Navigators in college at Bowling Green State University, OH. I became a Christian at age 15 in the Mennonite Church in Canada. I was discipled in my faith also through the Navigators at University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The Lord brought us together in Hamilton, Ontario in 1987 when Sue was serving the Lord through the Mennonite Volunteer Services organization. We were married in 1989 and after receiving a Master of Divinity degree at Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Virginia, I was an Assistant Pastor at Grace Mennonite Church for three years in Lansdale, PA.
Through ministering with the Grace Mennonite Church family, God prepared us to be involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship where I am a Local Director now in Ohio near where Sue’s family resides. The Lord has given me a love for evangelism and compassion for children which has been a great fit for working with this International Children’s ministry. Leading children to Christ and helping them grow in the Lord is the most exciting thing in the world. Plus I have the opportunity to train others to do the same.

CEF® of MARCK is the local chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship® in North Central Ohio. Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God and establish them in Bible believing churches for Christian living. Our desire is to partner with churches to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
Child Evangelism Fellowship was founded in 1937 by J. Irvin Overholtzer. The vision that our founder had to reach the whole world is still alive today. CEF has a ministry reaching children in almost every country of the world!
The local chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) has been reaching children for Christ in the Mansfield area for over 70 years. Under the leadership of Dale Baer, the Local Director of the MARCK Chapter, the Local Committee is trusting the Lord to establish a County Coordinator in all five counties.
This local chapter (CEF of MARCK) serves the following five counties of Ohio:
Morrow, Ashland, Richland, Crawford and Knox. Therefore we use the acrostic “MARCK”.
CEF cares about evangelizing children and helping them grow in Christ.
